We have gathered all 180 statistics here!

Agria Breed Profiles

The Agria Breed Profiles provide valuable information about which diagnoses are most prevalent in different breeds and how the breeds compare in terms of health.

  • Over 1 million dogs are included in the material
  • 180 health profiles have been created; one for mixed breeds and 179 for different dog breeds.
  • The Agria Breed Profiles are based on the veterinary care received by dogs with Agria health insurance.
  • Brenda Bonnett, Canadian professor, epidemiologist and veterinarian, developed the dog profiles in collaboration with Agria.

We have tried to make our extensive statistics available and usable for both breed clubs, vets, breeders and the regular dog owner. We hope that the Agria Breed Profiles will provide a broad insight into the health challenges of a dog owner. This will prepare you for what health issues you may encounter in your everyday dog life. As a breeder, you can see what you should be focusing on in your future breeding. The material can also be used to see which diagnoses the dog breed has a lower risk of being affected by - compared to all other dog breeds.

Agria Breed Profiles are not an exhaustive list of everything that needs to be prioritized in breeding work. It is our hope that this guide will serve as a resource for various breed clubs, breeders and more. Because what is an imperative health issue to focus on for a breed? Is it an issue that many dogs are affected by, or is it what causes the most suffering for an individual dog? Agria Breed Profiles provide the overview and facts that breeders and clubs can work on.
